I have always wanted to go South Haven Michigan when the wind was up. I had alway heard how spectacular the waves could be crashing against the pier. I was not disappointed.
When I first arrived I noticed that I was not the only person with the same idea. There were hoards of other people recording the waves with point & shoots, cell phone cameras, and DLSRs. I surveyed the scene to see where I could get the best composition. The wind was a steady 40 mph with gust over that. I was concerned that the steady pelting of sand would give my camera a new finish. I wish that I had goggles to keep my eyes clear.
The combination of the crashing waves the and the sunlight glinting off the pier made for some great images.
