Fallen Hero

As a freelance photographer I get to experience a variety of photographic subject mater, and as photojournalist I get to experience events that I would normally not.

I had the honor to attend a candlelight vigil at Union City High School of a young marine that was killed in Afghanistan on October 1, 2010.  I did not know Sgt. Tony Matteoni.  He was only 22.  He left a young wife that is expecting.

It is hard for me to stay objective when I do these types of photo assignment, I usually get emotionally involved.  This assignment was no different.  It was hard for me to photograph this as tears kept filling up my eyes.

God bless Tony and his family, and all the men and women of our armed services.

Please feel free to go to my web gallery and see the rest of the images.
